BubbaDesk Partners with Canva and Prepares for Major Expansion

Canva First Australian Company to Integrate Co-Working With Onsite Childcare into Employee Benefits with Exclusive BubbaDesk Partnership

Company also set to expand into Inner West and Brisbane Locations in 2024 off the back of  Series B Raise
BubbaDesk, the innovative coworking space with onsite childcare services, has announced an exclusive partnership with Canva, one of the world's most valuable startups. This collaboration marks the first of its kind for both companies, aligning their missions to support working parents with flexible, family-friendly solutions.
As part of the partnership, Canva employees in Australia will receive exclusive benefits from BubbaDesk which include a 10% discount on subscription memberships to BubbaDesk (for subscriptions 6 months or longer) as well as a two-for-one exclusive benefit on BubbaDesk casual packs which gives employees a complimentary day when they purchase a casual day pack for the first time.
Both startups are dedicated to redefining the traditional work model and providing parents with the resources they need to balance work and family life effectively.
“At Canva, we’re incredibly excited about the possibilities brought to life by hybrid work. We offer our team the flexibility to work from a Canva campus, from home, or a bit of both; however, the balance works best for them and their teams. With partnerships like BubbaDesk, we're able to ensure the parents and caregivers in our team have the flexibility they need to build work around their lives, not the other way around,” said Rebecca Partridge, Benefits Program Manager, Canva.

The partnership announcement comes alongside the confirmed opening of two new BubbaDesk locations, its first Inner West space set to open its doors before the end of 2024 and its inaugural Queensland location in Brisbane, also slated for 2024. These new centres will join the ranks alongside St Leonards, Erina, Caringbah and Wollongong, providing even more parents (and Canva employees) with a childcare solution that allows them to return to work when they need to, and remain productive while staying close to their children.
BubbaDesk is also in the process of a significant Series B raise, which will further fuel its rapid expansion and innovation in the coworking and childcare sectors. This funding milestone is proof of strong market demand for the startup’s services and the company's potential for continued growth and impact.
"Our partnership with Canva is a game-changer, not just for BubbaDesk but for working parents across Australia. By combining our strengths, we can provide even more support to parents striving to balance their professional and personal lives,” said Lauren Perrett, Founder of BubbaDesk. “The opening of our new locations in the Inner West and Brisbane is another exciting step in our mission to make flexible, family-friendly workspaces accessible to more families. As we approach the completion of our Series B raise, we are poised for even greater growth and innovation in 2024 and beyond," she continued.
BubbaDesk was founded by Lauren, who, as a mother of two young children, understands the challenges of balancing work and childcare. BubbaDesk's model offers onsite nannying services, modern playing and learning facilities, and hot desks, and private call spaces for working parents. Plus onsite gyms to really make BubbaDesk a one-stop shop for work-life balance. This setup ensures that parents can maintain productivity while staying close to their little ones.
Since its launch in November 2022, BubbaDesk has rapidly expanded, with locations now across NSW and plans for further national growth. The company has already garnered interest from over 3,000 families, with hundreds actively using the service. BubbaDesk's innovative approach to combining coworking and childcare has resonated deeply with parents seeking a supportive and flexible return-to-work solution.
