Nectr secures solar partnership with The Panthers Group at Pullman Penrith

  • Written by Times Media

Nectr expands off-field partnership with the Panthers, delivering renewable energy solutions for the group’s commercial venues

Australian energy specialist Nectr, through Nectr Solar and Battery, has secured a new agreement with The Panthers Group to deliver solar energy solutions for the Pullman Hotel and Western Sydney Convention Centre in Penrith.

The agreement marks another milestone in the ongoing partnership between Nectr and the Penrith Panthers, extending their collaboration beyond the field and reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainability and smart energy solutions.

The project was awarded to Nectr Solar and Battery following a competitive tender process, highlighting the company’s expertise in delivering commercially strong, sustainable energy solutions for large-scale hospitality and entertainment venues.

The Pullman solar installation will provide 172kW of capacity, generating approximately 236MWh of renewable energy per year. Once operational, the system is expected to deliver estimated energy savings of around $72,000 per year and carbon offsets of approximately 130 tonnes annually.

Most importantly, the payback period for the solar installation is expected to be less than three years, allowing the system to effectively pay for itself in a short timeframe - an outstanding commercial outcome for The Panthers Group.

Hayden Barry, Nectr Solar and Battery Interim Managing Director, said the agreement demonstrates the growing role of renewable energy in delivering both environmental and financial benefits for Australian businesses.

“Projects like this show how solar can deliver immediate cost savings while supporting long-term sustainability goals. We’re proud to be chosen as the solar partner for The Panthers Group. We’re excited to help power their operations with clean, reliable energy for better business outcomes.

Andrew Latimer, Nectr Solar and Battery Business Development Manager, said “With an estimated payback period of around three years, we’re excited to be supporting the Panthers move to more sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions for this business. We look forward to working in partnership with The Panthers Group to roll out further solar installations across other Panthers venues in the future,”.

The Panthers Group says the investment supports its commitment to sustainability while delivering strong returns for the business.

“We value the strong working relationship we’ve built and the ongoing partnership between the two organisations,” Panthers Group CEO Andrew Hill said.

“It’s a partnership that delivers positive outcomes for both parties, and we look forward to continuing to work together.”

The project marks another milestone in Nectr and the Penrith Panthers’ partnership, which spans both on-field and off-field initiatives. Nectr Solar and Battery has also delivered a solar installation at the Penrith Panthers Rugby League Academy, generating approximately $20,000 in energy savings each year. During the 2026 NRL season, Nectr is also secured as the naming sponsor for the Penrith Panthers Rugby League Academy.

The Pullman Penrith and Western Sydney Convention Centre installation reinforces Nectr Solar and Battery’s position as a trusted partner for commercial and industrial businesses or organisations seeking to reduce energy costs, cut emissions and improve energy resilience through smart renewable solutions.

Awarded four 2026 Mozo Expert Choice Awards for residential and business electricity, Nectr is an Australian energy brand dedicated to supporting Australian homes and businesses in transitioning to a cleaner, more efficient energy future, with affordability and sustainability at its core.

Through its Nectr Solar and Battery division, the business tailors and installs solar and battery systems for over 40,000 homes and businesses nationwide, supporting energy independence, lower electricity costs, and a more sustainable future. As part of the ongoing partnership, Penrith Panthers members can receive $500 off their total solar and battery installation cost when choosing Nectr Solar and Battery.
