The BCA response to the Voice to Parliament Referendum result

The Business Council of Australia has always supported the opportunity for all Australians to fully enjoy the benefits of Australian prosperity, Business Council chief executive Bran Black said.

“Our members are, and remain, committed to the social, cultural and economic prosperity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

“We have translated that commitment into action through Reconciliation Action Plans, by being major employers of Indigenous Australians and through investing in communities.

“Our landmark Raising the Bar initiative has contributed to an Indigenous business sector which is estimated to add up to $12 billion to the Australian economy.

“We supported The Voice to provide a mechanism for consultation and partnership, and, ultimately, increased opportunity for Indigenous Australians.

“BCA members remain committed to working with Indigenous communities and, together, building prosperity in which all Australians share.”
