GUIDE DOGS AUSTRALIA & BLACK HAWK JOIN FORCES TO RELEASE THE ULTIMATE DOG CARE GUIDE WITH TIPS YOU CAN TRUST

Guide Dogs Australia is proud to announce Black Hawk as its new dog food partner. Joining forces to ensure that Australia's most trusted dogs are thriving so they can support the needs of those living with low vision or blindness.

To celebrate the partnership and help dog owners everywhere, Guide Dogs Australia is combining its world leading training expertise, with first-class knowledge from leading nutritionists and veterinarians at Black Hawk to launch the ultimate dog Care Guide.

For the first time, Guide Dogs Australia will reveal trade secret tips for canine care and training, to provide advice all dog owners can trust, so Aussie dogs can live their best lives.

Dog owners often find themselves bombarded with conflicting advice about training and nutrition leaving many confused about how to provide the best for their dog. Cutting through the confusion, this Care Guide provides advice on some of the most common dog training and care challenges, with simple information, in one place, to give dog owners peace of mind.

Focusing specifically on the essentials of dog training and nutrition, the Guide Dogs and Black Hawk Care Guide keeps consistency at the core to ensure pooch and parent are set up for success. Additionally, it emphasises the critical role that a natural, high quality and balanced diet plays in supporting a dog's overall health and well-being, laying out nutritional must haves to keep your furry friends nourished.

So, from boisterous dogs that like to pretend they can’t hear commands, or knowing how much to feed your pooch, these care tips are designed for all owners to easily implement throughout their dog's day-to-day life, no matter what age, breed or temperament of the dog.

Julie Dillon, Black Hawk (Masterpet) CEO says “Guide Dogs Australia has been supporting Australians with low vision since 1957 and I am honored that Black Hawk now has the opportunity to partner and work with one of Australia’s most iconic and trusted charities. The amazing work of Guide Dogs Australia enables thousands of adults and children living with low vision to live fulfilling lives with confidence, companionship and greater independence.

Whether it be a Companion, Therapy, Facility, Autism Assistance or Guide Dog, we are delighted that all the very best ingredients of our Black Hawk food will help in bringing out the very best of these amazing Dogs. The Ultimate Care Guide is a great articulation of our shared care for our dogs and the different roles that they play in our lives”.

Jennifer Gibb, Guide Dogs Australia Executive Director, says “We know a thing or two about training dogs. We also know that looking after a dog takes care and dedication, especially if you are new to the role. There is such an overload of information out there, which at times can be so contradictory. We wanted to help simplify caring for your four-legged friend but also share our best-in-practice tips, which we use to train some of the most highly skilled dogs in the world.

It's no secret that what you feed your dog is vital to their cognitive development, performance and overall health – so we’re very particular about what we feed our future Guide Dogs.

Partnering with Black Hawk has done the hard work for us, we know that together we are providing our dogs with all of the beneficial proteins, vitamins, minerals and nutrients necessary for them to be alert and at the top of their game while supporting the low vision and blind community.”

Black Hawk has been appointed as official provider of dog food in all Guide Dogs Australia states (NSW/ACT, QLD, VIC and SA/NT).
