Gotta do it: 5 reasons why you should have your air conditioner serviced

  • Written by: NewsServices.com

Anyone who has spent a summer in Melbourne can tell you how outrageously toasty it is. From December’s sudden onslaught to late January’s ghastly 40 degree days and the relentless warmth until March, our city is one that experiences some seriously balmy days.

For this reason we are no stranger to some manufactured in-home refreshment in the form of the trusty air conditioner. But these imperative instruments aren’t fail proof, and occasionally require the best air conditioning service western suburbs Melbourne has available.

But the occasional malfunction isn’t the only reason why you might want to have your machine adjusted - let’s take a look at a few more of those below:

  1. It saves you money!

In this current economic climate, seriously? You can save money on your air conditioning? Yes, of course! Because the more you use your unit the more likely it is to start malfunctioning, and when the unit starts malfunctioning it needs more power to work more efficiently.

The more power the unit uses the more it will cost you, and this cost doesn’t level out to if you simply had it serviced once in a while. So, a unit service means more longevity, operating at a higher capacity and, consequently, spending less on electricity bills.

  1. Your unit will last longer

No one wants to have to replace their unit every few years. We would obviously prefer to have a unit that runs at top capacity for many years to come. After all, this is a machine that doesn’t come cheap, and it’s one that we truly rely on when the weather gets to that rowdy midsummer point.

With this in mind, wouldn’t it be ideal for our units to last as long as possible? Unfortunately, over time, the parts in these machines start to wear, but this shouldn’t mean they are left to deteriorate to the point we have to buy a brand new unit! Instead, having such parts checked out every now and again will ensure that you can keep the same unit for many years to come.

  1. It helps reduce your carbon footprint

A fully functional air conditioner is a greener one. Conversely, a malfunctioning unit is one that generates more electricity to cool the room to your needs. So, if you’ve been worried about how your home (including your unit) influences your carbon footprint, you may want to consider having it serviced to ensure it is functioning at full capacity and, therefore, having a lower impact on the environment.

  1. A malfunctioning unit can be a health hazard

We all know that grotty feeling we experience after spending the night in a poorly conditioned room. Well, this could likely be because of a malfunctioning unit, as these units often produce stale air that is not ideal to inhale. So, you should have your air conditioning unit checked out once again to ensure that it is operating at full capacity and not causing any health problems.

  1. It just makes your home comfier

At the end of the day, the machine’s ultimate purpose is to cool your home. But how can it do this properly if it is full of malfunctioning parts? Impossible, and so you should look towards having it routinely serviced to ensure that it is functioning to the fullest effect, is safe, and will keep your home fresh and cool on those gnarly summer days!
