Seiko Presage Craftsmanship Series Arita Porcelain Dial

This creation features a “Hakuji” dial that highlights the pure white colour of the porcelain material through an application of transparent glaze. Simple bar indexes have been used so as not to detract from the porcelain’s lustre, a quality enhanced by the curved surface of the dial's outer circumference.

On the dial, which measures 31.6mm in diameter, the area just inside the indexes is decorated with a delicate pattern, and the sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position is recessed to achieve delicate shading.

The case design is at once graceful and sharp. Secured by a multi-row bracelet with links in contrasting finishes, the watch rests comfortably and securely on the wrist while enhancing the lustrous appearance of the Arita Porcelain dial.

The tips of the minute and seconds hands are bent toward the dial, bringing them closer to the dial’s markers for heightened legibility, and a dual-curved sapphire glass minimizes the thickness of the case. A super-hard coating enhances the case and bracelet while protecting the watch from scratches.

Presage porcelain dials are made by an experienced manufacturer in Arita that has been creating porcelain since 1830. Master craftsman Hiroyuki Hashiguchi and his colleagues in Arita, a town synonymous with porcelain, have been developing dials with the Presage team for years.
