SgurrEnergy Crosses 240 GW Global Renewable Energy Milestone, Targets 400 GW by 2030

India-headquartered independent renewable energy consultancy marks 24 years, with a global track record spanning 60+ countries

SgurrEnergy, an India-headquartered, fully independent renewable energy consulting and engineering company, has crossed 240 GW of renewable energy capacity designed and engineered globally. As it enters its 25th year, the Pune-headquartered consultancy aims to support 400 GW of renewable energy capacity worldwide by 2030. With its engineering capabilities built and anchored in India and a track record spanning more than 60 countries, SgurrEnergy continues to scale Indian engineering expertise across global renewable energy markets. Its next phase of growth will focus on expanding its international project portfolio, deepening strategic client partnerships and investing in technical talent and engineering capabilities.

SgurrEnergy’s growth strategy centres on strengthening its presence across established and emerging renewable energy markets. Asia remains a key growth driver, accounting for over 162 GW of its global portfolio, while markets such as Oman, South Africa and Australia present further opportunities. The company is also advancing the use of AI-enabled workflows and analytics to improve engineering precision, optimise designs and enhance project delivery, while addressing the diverse technical standards, grid conditions and regulatory requirements of international markets.

The company provides end-to-end independent technical advisory and engineering services across wind, solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), hybrid systems, hydropower, grid solutions, and environmental and social advisory. Its capabilities span the renewable energy project lifecycle, from feasibility studies, resource assessment, energy yield analysis, technical due diligence and bankability assessments to engineering and design, procurement support, lender’s and owner’s engineering, project management, construction support, quality assurance, inspection and commissioning. Its expertise also extends to operations, asset performance, repowering, life extension and decommissioning, enabling clients to access multidisciplinary technical guidance across different stages of project development and operation.

SgurrEnergy’s global portfolio is supported by a team of over 260+ engineers and technical professionals based in Pune, India, whose multidisciplinary expertise enables the company to address the evolving requirements of renewable energy projects across markets. Its contribution to the energy transition is reflected in an estimated 158.5 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided through renewable energy projects it has designed and engineered.

Commenting on the milestone and the company’s future roadmap, Arif Aga, Director, SgurrEnergy, said, “Reaching our 24th year is not simply a measure of how long we have been in business. It represents decades of engineering decisions, client trust, lessons learned across technologies and markets, and our continued commitment to independent technical judgement. The next 160 GW will require us to think beyond individual projects and help shape an energy system where renewable power is not only generated at scale, but is increasingly flexible, resilient and integrated into the way global economies consume and manage energy.”

SgurrEnergy’s global delivery model is anchored by its headquarters and Centre of Technical Excellence in Pune, India, supported by regional offices in Riyadh, Nairobi, Dallas, Suzhou, Singapore and Dubai. This network combines engineering expertise developed in India with regional market knowledge, enabling the company to serve clients across international markets while responding to local technical standards, regulatory frameworks, grid conditions and commercial requirements. This model positions SgurrEnergy as an India-headquartered global consultancy, leveraging the depth of its engineering expertise in India to deliver independent technical solutions across international renewable energy markets.
