Sydney Legacy hosts Remembrance Day Luncheon 2022 to commemorate Australia’s service men and women

  • Written by NewsServices.com

On Friday 4th November between 12:00pm - 2:30pm, Sydney Legacy will be hosting its annual Remembrance Day Luncheon to celebrate one of the most significant Australian commemorations and a chance to reflect on Australia’s contribution to past and present conflicts.

The event will be held at the stunning Doltone House, Hyde Park which boasts uninterrupted views of Sydney’s iconic park, a space that creates a perfect ambience and is the ideal backdrop for a significant event such as this. The luncheon will also be proudly sponsored by Defence Housing Australia and Doltone House.

A uniformed member of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) will be seated at each table, giving guests the chance to hear some incredible stories and a number of Legacy beneficiaries and volunteers will also be in attendance. Guests will be treated to musical performances by 1940s inspired, retro singing trio, The Pacific Belles. The three-course meal included in the price of the ticket will include dishes such as Wagyu Bresaola, Slow Cooked Lamb Shanks and a Salted Caramel Brûlée.

Former Channel Ten newsreader, Ron WIlson will act as MC for the event and guests will also hear speeches from notable guest speaker Dr Brendan Nelson AO and Legacy beneficiary Michelle Carr. There will be a number of opportunities for guests to raise money for the families of veterans who are supported by Legacy through a raffle, which include a wonderful price of a $5,000 Robert Cliff Master Jewellers voucher. There will also be a silent auction with prizes including a signed NSW Waratahs jersey, a brewery tour for four people at 4 Pines Brewing Company and more. All proceeds raised will provide essential social and financial support to the families that Legacy assists.

In 1923 Legacy made a promise to help veterans’ families carry on with their lives after the loss or injury of their loved one. It was a simple promise that Legacy keeps today; providing the same stability, guidance and assistance that a partner would normally provide to his or her family. Today, Legacy supports 43,000 partners and children of veterans who gave their lives or health serving the country.

Tickets are priced at $175pp, or you can purchase a table of 10 for $1,700. The cost of the ticket includes a three-course meal with drink service, with pre-drinks commencing at 12:00pm. To purchase tickets, click this link.
