Ai Group congratulates Queensland's new Premier, David Crisafulli

National employer association the Australian Industry Group congratulates David Crisafulli as Queensland's new Premier.

Ai Group's Head of Queensland, Michelle Farquhar, and Head of Northern Australia, Dean Deighton look forward to working with the new Queensland Government to support industry and business across the width and breadth of the State.

"Members of Ai Group have laid bare the challenges and obstacles of doing business in Queensland, identifying their top three priorities as finding skilled workers, reducing regulation and accessing reliable and affordable energy," Ms Farquhar said.

"The new government needs to put measures in place to support businesses and lighten their load.

"Improving access to skills and training and streamlining regulation and compliance are key to taking the handbrake off productivity in this state."

Mr Deighton urged the Crisafulli Government to set up the State for success with a workforce, training and a migration system cognisant of the economic powerhouse that is regional Queensland.

"A shortage of skilled workers, supply chain disruptions and rising costs means there are a lot of sleepless nights for employers in the North," Mr Deighton said.

"There are unique issues in Northern Australia and the new Queensland Government needs to recognise the region is the country's economic powerhouse.

"The whole state needs to prosper so Queenslanders are not left behind."
