Why Should You Buy Creatine

  • Written by: Times Media

Everybody wants to surpass their physical limitations. To increase strength, notice real gains when it comes to endurance and also modify the way we look. But sometimes, our goals can only be achieved with the help of ergogenic supplementation. By now, you’ve probably heard of creatine. An organic compound made of arginine, glycine and methionine, creatine is naturally stored in the muscles and contributes to the recycling of adenosine triphosphate.

Why is it useful? Well, in its phosphorylated form, creatine donates phosphate to adenosine diphosphate, which in turn turns it back into ATP. Adenosine triphosphate, as we know, is the energy currency of human cells, and it’s absolutely vital for the proper functioning of our basic bodily functions.

A Complex Process

Chemical synthesis, muscle contractions, and even proper nerve function cannot happen without ATP. ATP production is not exactly tied to creatine, as its production is just one of the many pathways used by the body for the generation of cellular energy. That said, creatine is required for the rapid regeneration of ATP during bursts of high-intensity physical activity.

This is why you should at least consider the reasons to buy creatine. Intense efforts can deplete your ATP reserves, which will be visible in the continuation of your physical activities. Creatine gummies help recycle ATP faster, and in turn, they should help increase your maximum strength.

Plus, creatine has a positive contribution to long-term endurance, and also aids with recovery between sets. It’s not magic, but it’s really close to it. Creatine is perhaps the most studied organic compound, and supplementation with it is perhaps the most effective ergogenic aid for aspiring athletes.

How Can It Help?

Creatine gummies work by basically storing extra energy in your muscle fibres. ATP, for lack of better words, can be looked at as the fuel of our body, and creatine makes it recharge significantly faster. Energy, for the body, is equal to strength, endurance and faster recovery.

Now, while it’s true that creatine is naturally produced inside the body, and you can supplement naturally by eating red meat and fish, the effect is quite minimal. 100g of lamb meat will contain around 300mg of creatine. On the other hand, a normal serving of high-quality creatine gummies will contain between 3,000 and 5000mg of it. That’s 10x the difference, and your muscles will notice it.

What’s Certain Is That It Will Help

It’s true that the effects of creatine supplementation differ from one person to another. In my case, for example, when I first started my fitness journey and began taking creatine, the first thing I noticed was an increase in the number of maximum reps I could do.

It wasn’t substantial, but from a max of 30 reps with a 20-kg dumbbell, now I was able to rep around 25. Likewise, I was able to increase my maximum chin-up count from 10 to 13. Most people can expect to see a 10% increase in muscle strength, at least when compared to training without taking creatine.

But it must be said: Creatine is not a steroid. It will not lead to a substantial strength increase if you take it without also engaging in weight training or explosive sports. Yes, it’s helpful, but at the end of the day, it’s only an ergogenic help to your already existing training plan.

Is That All?

No, in fact far from it. Creatine gummies should make your muscles look a bit fuller, as they will attract water into your muscle cells. But the main aesthetic gains you will notice will come because of the increase in total strength. In my case, for example, the reason why I wanted to buy creatine was that I’ve hit a plateau. I was happy with how my body looked, and I was in decent shape, but I didn’t know how to improve any further.

Yes, I was able to do 40 push-ups, but I couldn’t get past 50. Yes, I was consistently running 5km in less than 30 minutes, but not once did I feel I could go below 25 minutes. Sure, I was exercising with a 20kg dumbbell, but I wanted to raise this weight to more than 25kg. And no matter how much I tried, I had difficulties in reaching the next level in my fitness journey. So, I’ve decided to go ahead and buy creatine.

I Had to Buy Creatine in Order to Advance

More strength meant I was now able to push beyond my previous limitations, and I also noticed my recovery times had reduced. Creatine, at least in my case, allowed me to train more often, reduced the pain I’ve felt after intense reps and also allowed me to put on more muscle mass while also contributing positively to my look. I got bulkier, and I felt better. Plus, and this was surprising to me, I also experienced some evident cognitive improvements.

Now, maybe it was all in my head and creatine was simply an outlet I used to make order in my schedule and focus on my physical health. But, after taking creatine for a couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that my short-term memory was starting to get much better and I was more engaged at work. Turns out, there is a direct link between creatine supplementation and brain function, and in some instances, creatine gummies can even help with depression.

What’s A Timeline of the Changes You Should Notice?

Like I’ve previously said, our bodies are different and they react in sometimes surprising ways. However, as a baseline, if you start to buy creatine, you should see some effects in around one week. Creatine pulls water inside the muscle cells, and thus, in the first seven days after you supplement with it, you should notice a slight weight increase, and your muscles should feel a bit fuller.

After around two weeks, however, you should also start to notice modifications in your maximum strength output. Heavier weights would feel a bit more manageable, and your maximum number of reps should increase by around 5-10%.

After one or two months, if you stick to a consistent training plan, you should notice visible and measurable increases in total strength and your body should be leaner. Granted, you will notice these effects even without creatine. Exercise is exercise after all. But creatine gummies can make you progress quicker and be a tool you can use to go over roadblocks in your physical goals.
