Shark SteamSpot S2001 Review: A Chemical-Free Way to Tackle Messes and Stubborn Stains

If you're looking for a reliable steam mop that can handle both everyday spills and stubborn stains without relying on harsh chemicals, the Shark SteamSpot S2001 is a solid option. We had the chance to put it to the test and see how it performs in real-world conditions.

What We Like About the Shark SteamSpot S2001

Sleek and Practical Design
The Shark SteamSpot features a sleek, modern design that is easy to use. It’s lightweight, which makes it easy to manoeuvre around the house. Plus, its slim build means it’s not bulky, so it can be stored with ease.

Large, Easy-to-Fill Water Tank
One of the standout features is the large, removable water tank. We don’t need to interrupt the cleaning session to top up the water—each refill lasts a long time, allowing us to get through the entire floor without hassle. Some other mops can be tricky to refill, but the Shark SteamSpot’s tank is straightforward to fill under the tap.

Quick Heat-Up Time
When you're in the middle of cleaning, you don’t want to wait long for the mop to heat up. The Shark SteamSpot heats up in just a few seconds, meaning you can get started straight away, without wasting time.

Machine Washable Mop Pads
The mop comes with machine-washable microfibre pads, which is a big win. You can simply toss them in the washing machine after each use, eliminating the need for costly disposables. The pads attach to the mop via Velcro, making it super easy to put them on and take them off. No more fiddling with fabric covers or worrying about them coming loose mid-clean.

Chemical-Free Cleaning
What really sets this mop apart is its ability to clean using just water. It sanitises your floors (when used on the Deep mode)* without needing any harsh chemicals, making it a safer and more eco-friendly option for households sensitive to cleaning products.

Things to Consider

Effort Required to Push
While the Shark SteamSpot is lightweight, you’ll still need to put in a little effort to push it across your floor (like most mops). It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s worth noting if you have larger spaces to cover.

Three Steam Settings for Different Needs

The Shark SteamSpot offers three distinct steam modes, allowing you to adjust the steam intensity based on what you’re cleaning:

• Light: Ideal for light, quick cleans and delicate surfaces. Perfect for a daily refresh of your floors.

• Normal: Everyday cleaning, suitable for large areas or those with moderate to heavy traffic..

• Deep: Tough cleaning, great for tackling stubborn messes and stains or tiles that need a deeper clean. This mode is designed to cut through heavy dirt and sanitise floors.

Additionally, you can press the handle trigger to blast steam directly onto tough stains before mopping.

Two Mop Pads for Different Tasks

The Shark SteamSpot comes with two machine-washable mop pads, each designed for different cleaning needs:

• Scrub Pad: Perfect for tougher stains and marks. The scrubbing action, combined with the power of steam, really helps break down stubborn dirt.

• Dirt Grip Pad: Ideal for everyday cleaning, it’s perfect for daily messes and light dirt on your floors.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Shark SteamSpot S2001 is a great steam mop for those looking for a powerful, eco-friendly cleaning solution. With its sleek design, large water tank, and quick heat-up time, it ticks a lot of boxes. Plus, the ability to use just water for cleaning makes it a winner for anyone looking to avoid chemicals. The steam settings and washable pads make it a highly effective tool for keeping your floors spotless.

The Shark SteamSpot (S2001ANZ) is available for purchase on www.sharkclean.com.au and at participating leading retailers.
