Riverbed Appoints New Head of APJ Channel, John Milionis

  • Written by Media Release

Riverbed® announced that John Milionis has been appointed to the role of Head of Channel for APJ  to further support its partners in the region. In his new role, John will be responsible for helping partners with business development and enablement as Riverbed looks to increase its focus on the channel and support the growing demand for network and application performance and visibility solutions.

John brings to Riverbed APJ more than 25 years of experience in IT, sales, marketing and general management. In his most recent role, John was Channel Director for Riverbed ANZ where he worked closely with local partners throughout the COVID-19 crisis to deliver optimal network and application performance for their customers – regardless of location.

As Head of Channel for APJ, John will report to Richard Steranka, Global VP of Sales, with his main goal focused on helping to identify new incremental business and enabling partners, as Riverbed continues to build solutions and service programs that appeal to an increasingly diverse customer base.

“As a result of the pandemic, we’ve seen a growing need to support partners across APJ as organisations look to stay remote,” says Steranka. “John has played a pivotal role in supporting partners in the ANZ market during this time of great uncertainty, so we look forward to bringing him on across the region to help partners work with their customers to navigate the new normal and new ways of working.”

As Riverbed continues to develop its offerings across WAN optimisation, app acceleration, network performance management and SDWAN, John will oversee the growth of Riverbed’s partner ecosystem as it navigates its position in the wider Asia Pacific market.

“I am excited to be stepping into this new role, particularly as the diversity of partner needs and expectations in the market make for a dynamic and everchanging set of opportunities,” says Milionis

“Knowing that many of our partners and customers are in a tough situation as a result of the pandemic, I am committed to listening and learning about the various challenges they are encountering and helping them navigate through them.”

John says despite challenging economic conditions, he is confident that Riverbed will continue to see strong demand for its solutions across the region. “The COVID crisis has put Riverbed in an extremely unique position to respond in tandem to the increasing demand for both network and application performance and visibility solutions, including technology that improves performance for remote workers. No other vendor is equipped to deal with both,” he says.

“Collaborating with partners has always been a passion of mine,” John adds. “While we can’t meet face to face for some time, I am confident that this new normal will still allow my team to meet our goal of growing Riverbed’s partner community and aiding in creating a seamless digital transformation for businesses across APJ.”
